1979, sophomore spring and my college roommate insisted we go downtown
to see the underwater film festival at SEASPACE Houston.
That night famed photographer and mentor Ernie Brooks premiered a
multi-projector slide-show of he and his daughter's very first open water
Scuba dive together in a California kelp forest.
As the thunder of applause brought up the house-lights in Jones Hall,
"THE" epiphany of my life's passion was founded.

Thursday we celebrated our nation's 237th birthday,
along with the 17th of my son Sawyer.
Then on Saturday I saw for the first time in the viewfinder of my housed Nikon
the "vision" 34 years in the making.
