For the citizens of Samoa, the Tsunami of September 29th
came ashore with complete disregard for Life as we
humans know it.
Blessed with a two hour warning, sixteen people came
together
quickly and efficiently to evacuate Palmyra in less than 45 minutes.
Divided equally aboard two 25ft boats with food,
fresh water
and one dog, we motored to deep ocean where the
wall of water predicted to collide with our tiny
atoll
would appear as nothing more than another passing
swell.
It would be foolish to
believe Nature's power spares
man's fragile existence on the basis of preparedness
alone.
Sometimes ya just have to be Lucky.
