For most of their lifespan, Sepioteuthis reef squid
like most Cephalopods are not interested in sex.
During the day they gather in schools and swim in a line
to watch for predators. Then at night they hunt by themselves.

In the last weeks of their life, however, sex
and courtship becomes the center of their days.
Beginning with intensive skin color 'flickering'
choreographed to attract selective partners.
